The NINJAS took on a very tough team in the 1st round of the single-elimination Tournament of Champions. The girls looked good during warm ups and seemed to have a lot of energy, but it felt like they never checked fully in to the game mentally. With a team like INTENSITY, who ended up in 3rd place in the season, it was not a good way to start. They were definitely on their game and took advantage of the SKIPPING NINJAS slow start. The NINJAS couldn't seem to get off the blocks on defense and every effort they made on offense played right into the INTENSITY defenders.
The NINJAS fell to INTENSITY in the game and were eliminated from the TOCs. But, it's been a great season and I'm very happy about what we've been able to do out there as a team this year and I was very proud to be able to coach this great group of girls in 2011. If I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

Game Ball
With not much offense to speak of, there was one play on defense which caught the attention of everyone at the game tonight. After an INTENSITY batter got a hit with bases loaded, she sent a grounder down the 3rd base line. Rebecca made the stop and, on a fielder's choice, decided to throw home and made a great play to prevent a run instead of going for the out at 1st. For keeping her head in the game and making a good decision on the play, Rebecca received the game ball. Great job Rebecca!
